2025 MINI Countryman SE ALL4

The MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is an all-new model for 2025. It’s the all-electric version of MINI’s first-ever SUV. It has cute styling, zippy handling, a spacious cabin, and unique infotainment system but the range is limited and the price tag is relatively steep.

Base Price: $45,200
As Tested: $51,145
Horsepower: 308
Mileage: 99 mpg city/94 mpg highway/96 mpg combined

The MINI Countryman EV and its gas-powered siblings are the largest MINIs ever made. The Countryman is taller and wider than previous models, which makes for a roomy and practical cabin. It’s also the brand’s first four-door EV.

It comes in two trims: Countryman SE All4 Signature Plus and Countryman SE ALL4 Iconic. Starting prices are $45,200 and $48,400, respectively. These are higher than several other EV SUVs. All-wheel drive is standard on both trims. There’s room for five passengers in two rows of seating.

Two style packages are available, Classic and Favoured, which have different exterior and interior options, including additional roof colors and interior upholstery features.

Both trims have the same powertrain: two electric motors and a 64.7-kWh lithium-ion battery. Total output is 308 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a single-speed automatic.

The MINI Countryman EV has peppy handling. Acceleration is swift – MINI says it can hustle from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, and there’s also plenty of power at higher speeds for merging and passing on the highway. It corners well with little body roll. The ride is mostly smooth with the suspension soaking up most bumps. The regenerative brakes have a natural feel. While there isn’t true one-pedal driving, there are different settings for the regenerative braking to help maximize range. All in all, this MINI EV has a playful personality and is fun to drive!

Fuel efficiency is about average for an EV SUV. EPA ratings are 99 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) city, 94 MPGe highway and 96 MPGe combined.

The range is 212 miles with 18-inch wheels, and 204 miles with 19-inch wheels. With DC fast charging, the battery can go from 10% to 80% in just under 30 minutes. With Level 2 (240-volts), it takes about eight hours for a full charge.

The cabin is cute and stylish as you’d expect in a MINI with an airy feel thanks to the standard panoramic moonroof. MINI says some of the materials, such as the dash, door and interior trim panels are made of 90% recycled materials, and the upholsteries are leather-free and recyclable.  You can choose from standard synthetic leather upholstery or a combination of cloth and faux leather. The interior is surprisingly spacious with good legroom in both rows. And a high roofline makes for decent headroom in both rows, even for taller passengers. MINI’s unique round infotainment screen dominates the dash.

Standard features include proximity keyless entry, remote start, rearview camera, head-up display, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, driver’s seat memory settings, heated front seats, heated and synthetic leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, infotainment system with round 9.4-inch touchscreen, navigation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, voice recognition, USB ports, wireless device charging, Wi-Fi hot spot, ambient interior lighting, adaptive headlights with automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a panoramic moonroof.

Available features include a Harman Kardon surround-sound audio system, augmented-reality navigation, and in-cabin camera.

Standard driver assistance technologies include forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, intersection assist (helps prevent crashes at intersections), speed limit recognition, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and vehicle exit warning (alerts those exiting the MINI of other vehicles approaching from behind).

Available driver assistance technologies include Active Driving Assistant Professional (MINI’s semi-autonomous driving technology which works on certain roadways), and park assist.

The infotainment system has a round 9.4-inch touchscreen. It adds a touch of whimsy to the already stylish cabin. It looks great with its high-def OLED screen. Graphics are modern and crisp. But there are few physical controls and the round screen is also the instrument cluster so the driver has to look down and to the right.

Cargo space is about average for an EV SUV. There are 25 cubic feet with both rows of seating in place and 56 cubes with the second row folded. A power liftgate is standard. The rear seats split-fold 40-20-40 and can ove forward and back by about five inches to accommodate passengers or cargo.

The good:

Cute and stylish inside and out

Peppy handling

Swift acceleration

Attractive, modern interior

Spacious cabin

Unique round infotainment system

Long list of standard features and tech

Standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

The not-so-good:

Range is less than other EV SUVs

Relatively high price tag

Infotainment system doubles as instrument cluster

Pricing info:

My tester starts at $45,200. The Iconic Trim is $3,200 and includes a Harman Kardon surround sound system, interior camera, power front seats, and privacy glass. The Comfort Package Max is $900 and includes Active Driving Assistant Pro, auto-diming interior and exterior, auto-diming rearview mirror, comfort access keyless entry, MINI navigation, and wireless device charging. Parking assistant pro is $250. Trailer hitch is $600. The destination charge is $995, bringing the grand total to $51,145.

Bottom line:

The 2025 MINI Countryman EV is fun to drive, has zippy acceleration and an upscale, modern cabin that’s surprisingly spacious. While the range isn’t impressive and the price is relatively high, this all-electric MINI is worth considering for those wanting a whimsical and cute entry-level luxury EV crossover.
