The Crown Signia was introduced for the 2025 model year, kind of replacing the Venza, which was discontinued after the 2024 model year, with its comfort, tech and refined vibes. For 2026, Toyota keeps things much the same, but now offers two-tone paint options for the Limited Trim.
The 2026 Crown Signia comes in two trims: XLE and Limited. Starting prices are $44,690 and $49,090, respectively.
There’s room for five passengers in two rows of seating.
Both trims get the same hybrid powertrain with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors, paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Total output is 240 horsepower. Toyota’s electronic on-demand all-wheel-drive system is standard on both trims, helping provide confident traction in varying weather conditions.
Behind the wheel, the Crown Signia prioritizes comfort over excitement. Acceleration is decent for a hybrid midsize crossover – it can go from zero to 60 in about 7.1 seconds, according to Toyota. There’s enough oomph for merging and passing at highway speeds. But the CVT produces a noticeable engine drone during hard acceleration. In cruising and everyday commuting, the powertrain is quiet and smooth. Steering is light and the Crown Signia corners pretty well, as long as you don’t attack turns. The regenerative braking system has a normal feel. Ride quality is one of the Crown Signia’s strengths. The suspension absorbs bumps and rough pavement well, making for a smooth and composed ride. The standard AWD system means the Crown Signia is ready for wet and snowy driving conditions.
Fuel economy is excellent. EPA ratings for the 2026 Crown Signia are 39 mpg city, 37 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined. I got slightly better at 40 mpg during my week with a mix of city and highway driving.
When properly equipped with the optional towing package, the Crown Signia can tow up to 2,700 pounds. This is below average for a midsize hybrid SUV.
The cabin is very nice for a mainstream vehicle with many soft-touch materials, leather upholstery with tasteful stitching, and a clean, modern dashboard design. It looks more sophisticated than your standard Toyota SUV interior, and is nearly as nice as what you’d find in a Lexus. The seating position is slightly elevated, providing the visibility you’d expect in an SUV while retaining a wagon-like driving feel. Comfort up front is excellent with plenty of leg- and headroom and supportive, comfortable seats that are heated and ventilated. The rear seats are also heated. The second row is roomy enough for average-size adults. The cabin does have noticeable road and wind noise, which keeps it from having a totally premium feel.
Two 12.3-inch displays under one pane of glass provide a modern look. One screen is the digital driver gauge cluster and the other is the latest Toyota infotainment system. The system looks great with crisp graphics and is user-friendly with logically arranged menus. Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and wireless device charging are standard on both trims.
Cargo space is similar to what you’d find in a smaller vehicle. There are 25.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 68.8 cubes with the rear seats folded. Those numbers decline if you get the Limited trim, as its panoramic sunroof – cargo space declines to 24.8 and 66.1 cubes. The second row split-folds 60/40, providing flexibility in hauling passengers and cargo. A hands-free power liftgate is standard on both trims.

My 2026 Toyota Crown Signia XLE test vehicle starts at $44,390. The Preferred Accessories Package is $409 and adds carpet mats, cargo tote, carpet cargo mat, carpet floor mats and a first aid kit. Wheel locks are $105. The connected services trial is $325 and offers two additional years of Drive Connect and Remote Connect in addition to the one-year standard trials.
