BOISE – The Idaho division of AAA Oregon/Idaho will host a grand opening of its new service center at 750 S. Progress Ave., Suite 135, at the Central Park Plaza in Meridian, Idaho the week of June 20-24.

The grand opening for the new facility is slated for June 20-24. The Meridian Chamber of Commerce will conduct ribbon-cutting ceremonies on Tuesday, June 21 at 1:30 p.m. Free refreshments will be served each day, and drawings will be held throughout the week for various prizes. A grand prize drawing for a trip for two to Disneyland will he held Friday, June 24.

“This location gives AAA a better presence in the growing Treasure Valley, and provides our members and customers a convenient alternative to our primary location near Boise Towne Square,” said AAA Idaho Division President Jim Manion. More than 25,000 AAA members live within a ten mile radius of the Meridian location.

Originally founded in 1920, with its first office located briefly in Nampa, the Idaho AAA affiliate has served western Idaho from Boise for 85 years. “Soon after incorporating with the Secretary of State in 1920, the officers decided to move the headquarters office to Boise, and that’s where it has been ever since,” Manion said.

Idaho’s AAA merged with AAA Oregon in 1996. The organization now serves more than 630,000 members in the two state region. The company offers a membership, insurance, travel agency and financial products and services.

The Meridian AAA service center is located in the Central Park Plaza, near Tony Roma’s and Home Depot.

AAA Idaho also has offices in Pocatello and Twin Falls. It has served members in the Treasure Valley from several Boise locations in the past eight decades and currently does so from its full service location at 7155 W. Denton Street, near Boise Towne Square.
