BOISE – Idaho drivers awoke to more bad news at the pumps today, as the state’s average price for regular gasoline jumped 10 cents overnight.
According to AAA, today’s average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $4.15, an astonishing ten cents higher than yesterday. But prices jumped even further in some parts of the state, including Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, and Twin Falls:

“Crude oil is bought in the futures market. Tensions are running high in the Middle East, so the future is pretty murky right now,” says AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde. “As refineries pay the higher replacement cost of crude oil, the sticker shock passes down the line, affecting everything from the price of a plane ticket to the cost of your next food delivery.”
AAA reminds drivers to research ways to save at the pump. Some retailers, credit card companies, and even cell phone providers offer discounts on fuel. Drivers can also use the AAA mobile app to find the cheapest fuel and the location of EV charging stations in the area.
“A little bit of carpooling can keep some of your hard-earned money in your pocket while reducing wear and tear on your vehicle,” Conde said. “Thankfully, most people are still in the position to take their summer road trips.”
